   Ed Miller, born in Baltimore, MD. longed to be a Philly Mummer as a boy, using his father's banjo to pretend.  At the age of 31, he took lessons from Jimmy Riley, from whom he bought his 1960's Gibson Masterton Bowtie banjo.  After a lifetime dream, Ed owns a Gibson Florentine banjo which first belonged to a Hall of Famer banjo player, Johnny Baier, and then owned by banjo master, Buddy Wachter, whom Ed has known for 30 years.  The Suncoast Mummers knows Ed as the "Banjoman".

  John started playing trumpet at the age of 8, playing later in a military band.  Playing the banjo, he joined the Ocean county, N.J. String Band.  John started a string band in PA, also playing in the Garden state String Band, N.J. and the Greater Bucks County String Band, PA. and marched in the New Year's Day parade in Philadelphia, PA. for 12 years.  He was Music Director of the Northeastern PA. String Band before becoming the Musical Director of the Suncoast Mummers String Band in Bradenton, FL.
